A letter from your Community Education Specialist…
As our school year comes to a close, we at the Community Blood Center would like to extend a heart-felt ‘Thank You’ to all the high schools that contributed to our community blood supply. We had 122 schools participate in high school blood drives this 2007-08 school year with over 9,426 registered donors! This is a remarkable accomplishment. As you are aware, every pint donated saves up to 3 lives. In order to keep our supply stable and meet patient blood needs, we still need to have at least 350 donors a day to donate. We encourage each of you to donate this summer at the Community Blood Center or at a community blood drive. Encourage your friends to come with you and continue serving your community.
We hope that next school year will be more successful than this year, and we are looking into some new ideas to help promote giving the gift of life.
Again, thank you for such an accomplishment, and have a safe, healthy and happy summer!
Sincerely,
Cristina M. Pickle
Community Education Specialist
The Don8 Bl%d Drive is an effort to raise awareness of the need for blood and to inspire high school students to give blood. All participating high schools are listed on our website, in addition to their blood drive results. Each registered donor will receive a Don8 Bl%d T-shirt. T-shirts are funded by Cricket Cares and the Community Blood Center.

Cricket Cares® is an expression of Cricket's commitment to giving back to the communities in which is operates. Cricket feels strongly about corporate responsibility and wants to make a difference in the communities they serve. Cricket Cares is dedicated to helping local charities and nonprofit organizations achieve their goals.

As high schools host blood drives results will be posted on our website so that you can monitor your school's performance. Find out how "K%l" your school is by tracking how many life-saving blood donors donated blood at your high school blood drive.
Each registered donor will celebrate life at the blood drive by receiving a Don8 Bl%d T-Shirt.
