Educational Programs

A Note to Teachers

From Cristina Pickle, Community Blood Center Education Specialist

Dear Educators,

Community Blood Center is proud to give its community a well-rounded education program, providing a curriculum from pre-school through college across our 15-county region, stimulating young minds with the wonders of blood science and the human body. As an educator, I have made sure that the curriculum meets the Ohio standards set by the Ohio State Board. This turnkey science and health curriculum will teach students the following:

  • The unique roles of red cells, white cells, platelets, and plasma.
  • Blood's incredible journey through our bodies using sophisticated video microscopy and animation.
  • The importance of community service and the lifesaving nature of blood donation.

I encourage you to include this interdisciplinary science and health program within your district's curriculum.

Sincerely,

Cristina Pickle
