DAYTON, OH (April 28, 2008) — Dayton Mayor Rhine McLin will be visiting Community Blood Center on Saturday, May 3 as part of National Volunteer Week. During her visit, McLin will announce May 3 as “CBC/CTS Guest Relations Ambassador and Volunteer Day” in Dayton, as well as become an Honorary Guest Relations Ambassador for the day. Volunteer Pins and Award certificates will be presented by the Mayor to CBC/CTS volunteers in attendance. CBC/CTS has over 60 volunteers.
Community Blood Center is open to donors and the public from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 3.
Donors are required to provide a photo ID that includes their full name. Past CBC donors are also asked to bring their CBC donor ID card. Donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 years old with parental consent: form available at www.givingblood.org or at CBC branch & blood drive locations), weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and be in good physical health. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) changes blood donor eligibility guidelines periodically.
