It’s “tee time” For Blood Donors at CBC

DAYTON, OH (May 12, 2008) — It’s “tee time” Thursday, May 15, at Community Blood Center (CBC) – Dayton, 349 S. Main Street.  Register to donate blood from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and you will receive a FREE package of golf tees (while supplies last).  Donors will be eligible to win other prizes too including Ashworth golf shirts and a Bob Toski golf club (driver).  Blood use has been higher than average lately and CBC wants area donors to be someone's hero by giving blood at this time.

Additionally, the bone marrow department is having a special promotion in honor of Mother’s Day.  Potential marrow donors can register with the national bone marrow program at no cost.  Those who sign up with the marrow program will be entered into a drawing for a FREE “Thanks Mom” t-shirt.

Donors are required to provide a photo ID that includes their full name.  Past CBC donors are also asked to bring their CBC donor ID card.  Donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 years old with parental consent: form available at www.givingblood.org or at CBC branch & blood drive locations), weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and be in good physical health.  The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) changes blood donor eligibility guidelines periodically.  Individuals with eligibility questions are invited to email canidonate@cbccts.org or call 1(800)388-GIVE.
