DAYTON, OH — Join 2 News and Community Blood Center (CBC) this Friday beginning at 7:00 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. for the 2News On Your Side Blood Drive celebrating Blood Donors are Super Heroes Day at Community Blood Center, 349 S. Main Street, in Dayton. Everyone who registers to donate will:
- Receive a FREE “Join the Race for Life” t-shirt
- Be entered to win:
- A family four pack of Kings Island tickets
- Gift Certificate to Max & Erma’s & a movie ticket
- A pre-owned Toyota Avalon donated by Richmond Toyota
Bucher’s Beat will kick off the blood drive during 2News at Sunrise and Bucher will be back at CBC-Dayton again during 2News First at Noon.
This summer, CBC has struggled with serious blood shortages and urges healthy individuals who have not donated blood within the past two months to consider making a blood donation now. CBC must collect 335 pints of blood a day to meet the needs of area patients in the 25 hospitals served by CBC. Donors can also give at CBC locations in Middletown, West Chester, Springfield and Richmond, IN. Visit www.cbccts.org for more information donation locations.
Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and be in good physical health. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) changes blood donor eligibility guidelines periodically. Individuals with eligibility questions are invited to email canidonate@cbccts.org or call 1-800-388-GIVE. Required to donate blood: A photo ID with full name and social security number.
