FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 17, 2007
DAYTON, OH — (August 17, 2007) Celebrate the good old “days of yore” or pretend you are 16 again and make merry with a blood donation at Community Blood Center (CBC), 349 S. Main St. in Dayton, during the “Sweet 16 Birthday Party!”
On Monday, August 27, everyone who registers to donate blood will receive a ticket to the Ohio Renaissance Festival, while supplies last and will be entered to win a $25 gas card. The Renaissance Festival kicks off Labor Day weekend in Harveysburg, OH and occurs each weekend through October 21.
On Friday, August 31, enjoy birthday cake, hot dogs and other goodies in the canteen. Everyone who registers to donate will receive a free t-shirt and will have the chance to reach into the birthday box to retrieve a prize! Prizes include passes to Wiley’s Comedy Club, passes to a movie at a Danbarry Cinema, $25 gift certificate at Lowe’s and a $30 gift certificate to Applebee’s. The event has a two-fold purpose: Increase blood donations to boost the blood supply surrounding the Labor Day holiday weekend and honor 16 year olds who will be permitted to donate blood with parental consent effective September 1.
Donation appointments on both dates are encouraged!
