DAYTON, OH — (September 17, 2007) - The Victoria Theater Association and Community Blood Center (CBC) in partnership are excited to announce that on Monday, September 17, everyone who registers to donate blood at CBC’s Dayton location, 349 S. Main St., will receive one FREE ticket (while supplies last) to the September 22 performance of “Ballet Folklorico "Quetzalli" de Veracruz!” Donation hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and donors may call (937) 461-3450 to make an appointment to donate and reserve a FREE ticket.
Founded in 1985, Mexico’s Ballet Folklorico “Quetzalli” has toured internationally performing traditional folkloric dances, exciting audiences of all ages. Their visual fiesta of culture and folklore features many regional dances of old Mexico, in particular, their home state of Veracruz. The music, performed live on authentic stringed instruments, punctuates the meticulous movement, colorful clothing and perfect pulse established by the dancers. Earning standing ovations from Cuba to Malaysia, Quetzalli proves they are one of Mexico’s most popular exports! Blood donors are required to provide a photo ID that includes their full name. Past CBC donors are also asked to bring their CBC donor ID card. Donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 years old with parental consent), weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and be in good physical health. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) changes blood donor eligibility guidelines periodically. Victoria Theatre Association receives funding from a variety of diverse public, corporate, individual and private sources, including the Montgomery County Arts and Cultural District and the Ohio Arts Council. The Ohio Arts Council helped fund this program or organization with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans.
